Municipal Fire School

July 7 - July 12

Fire prevention, suppression, control and safety personnel from municipalities, industries, state and federal agencies as well as the armed services attend this school for one week each summer. Highly qualified and experienced instructors provide extensive classroom and/or hands-on training.

For summer 2024 Municipal School will be held July 7th through the 12th. Normally, Municipal School is held during the last week of July following Industrial School. The reason for the change in 2024 is to hold the school during a time when instructors and students will not be competing for hotel rooms with another large event occurring in College Station.

Stay tuned for course announcement.

Annual Schools Path toward Firefighter I and II Certification

Option A – New firefighters or those with limited training opportunities.
Option B and B2 – Firefighters with some training but not enough to complete FFI. They get to skip ASP602 if they have documented completion of the live-fire prerequisites per NFPA 1403. The difference between B & B2 is when ASP604/605 are taken (spring/summer vs fall/winter).
Option C – Firefighters who have completed the Firefighting Phases (1 – 3) from previous Annual Schools or have already finished Firefighter Level 1.
