Course Description
The Medical Countermeasures: Point of Dispensing (POD), Planning, and Response course is a U.S. Department of Homeland Security/Federal Emergency Management Agency (DHS/FEMA)-certified course intended for participants within a community (from volunteers to skilled professionals) that respond to a medical countermeasures event. This course is a two-day workshop and facilitated discussion that covers the roles played by each of the following in distributing resources during a public health emergency: Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) Strategic National Stockpile (SNS); the state, territory, or tribal nation; and the local jurisdiction.
The purpose of this course is to enhance jurisdiction preparedness and emergency response efforts by providing participants with the knowledge necessary to exercise and revise a plan that utilizes an all-hazards approach toward a medical countermeasures event.
