Course Description

Truck Company Tactics: Outside Operations is an intensive, hands-on program designed for firefighters who want to sharpen the critical skills required of modern truck companies operating in high-risk environments. Through realistic drills, live problem-solving, and scenario-based training, participants will develop the mindset, techniques, and decision-making abilities needed to support fire attack, perform targeted life-saving operations, and execute truck company responsibilities with confidence.

Over two days of practical training, students will focus on ground ladder operations, Vent-Enter-Isolate-Search (VEIS) tactics, roof operations, vertical ventilation, and fireground tool proficiency. Emphasis is placed on performing calculated, mission-driven actions that prioritize life safety while operating effectively under pressure.

Registration Process

Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service in cooperation with the Texas A&M Forest Service, has aligned the payment process for annual schools with all other requests for tuition assistance under the House Bill 2604 program and TIFMAS training grants. A Texas A&M Forest Service voucher number or a request ID # is no longer a valid Purchase Order number. It will be denied if used as a form of payment.

The process will follow this pattern: Registration with payment – Apply for tuition assistance & obtain TAMFS approval – Attend training – Complete the reimbursement process.
