Course Description
This course will provide you with the opportunity to learn to identify common ladder types and their key components, enabling you to make an informed decision when selecting the appropriate ladder for specific tasks. You will be able to identify key components of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1931 standards. This course emphasizes best practices for ladder safety, including proper techniques for carrying, deploying, and positioning ladders to minimize the risk of injury. You will also identify safe ladder use during rescue operations and ladder repositioning.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for this course.
Course Completion Requirements
Participants must provide information for all required fields, including their U.S. citizenship/permanent resident information, in addition to meeting all other attendance and course completion requirements. If this information is not provided, the participant will be considered incomplete and will not receive a certificate of completion.
In order to receive a certificate of completion, the participant must complete all modules. Participants have 180 days from the registration date to complete the course.

Attendance Requirements
To meet attendance requirements, participants must review each module and complete all required course assignments, activities, quizzes, and end-of-course exam.
Upon successful completion, you will be able to:
- Identify ladder types and their components.
- Choose the appropriate ladder for different scenarios.
- Identify safe methods for carrying ladders.
- Identify safe methods for deploying ladders.
- Identify how to use ladders to rescue people safely.
- Identify key components of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1931 standards.
