Course Description

This is a comprehensive course aimed at personnel (emergency responders, plant fire brigades, incident commanders, hazardous materials (HazMat), and propane transport companies) who may be responsible for safe handling of Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) emergencies, including gas dispersion.

You will learn how to handle and control live unconfined flammable gas releases using a live project that incorporates sprinkler system and deluge capabilities to control vapor releases and fire.

This course satisfies all the requirements of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 29 CFR 1910.120, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 472, and BTP-951 compressed gas emergencies.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Course Completion Requirements

Participants Must Provide

  • a photo identification on the first day of class. See the Participant Handbook for approved forms of identification and additional guidelines.

Attendance Requirements

Class attendance is an essential part of the education process and participants in TEEX courses are expected to attend all class sessions and field exercises. This course requires participants to attend a minimum of 80% of the class hours as a component of successful course completion. During the course, your instructor will review any additional attendance requirements, for example a field exercise that cannot be missed
