Course Description

HEP700 Heavy Equipment and Vehicle Safety in Work Zones focuses on safety measures to protect workers on foot, drivers, pedestrians, and supervisors at work sites where heavy equipment and vehicles are present. This course teaches participants about the most common related hazards, how to identify them, and how to communicate with other people at the work site to mitigate them.

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Course Completion Requirements

Participants must provide information for all required fields, including their U.S. citizenship/permanent resident information, in addition to meeting all other attendance and course completion requirements. If this information is not provided, the participant will be considered incomplete and will not receive a certificate of completion.

  • Identify potential hazards that may occur at a construction work site.
  • Recognize communication methods that help prevent injuries and fatalities around heavy equipment and vehicles in construction work zones.
  • Identify safe practices for working around heavy equipment and vehicles in construction work zones.
  • Identify measures for protecting workers and visitors from heavy equipment and vehicles.
