This course meets NFPA 1026, Standard for Incident Management Personnel Professional Qualifications. This course is designed to enhance incident management abilities and to support critical decision-making within the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Incident Command System (ICS). The course provides techniques to enhance the Incident Commander’s ability to make rapid, correct decisions based on knowledge of various types of incidents. This course addresses the deployment of strategy and tactics and the expansion of the Incident Command System in the NIMS framework. Upon completion of this course, participants are eligible to schedule the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) exam, providing all TCFP requirements are met.
This course does NOT offer Pro Board certification.
There are no prerequisites for this course.
Class attendance is an essential part of the education process and participants in TEEX courses are expected to attend all class sessions and field exercises. This course requires participants to attend a minimum of 80% of the class hours as a component of successful course completion.
