Course Description

NFA logoThis course examines the Safety Officer’s role at emergency response situations, specifically focusing on operations within an Incident Command System (ICS) as a Safety Officer.

Does not meet the NFPA 1521 certification requirements for TCFP or SFFMA. Does qualify as an TCFP Track B and SFFMA Master Certification class.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Course Completion Requirements

Participants Must Provide

  • a photo identification on the first day of class. See the Participant Handbook for approved forms of identification and additional guidelines.

Attendance Requirements

To meet NFA attendance requirements, participants must complete each training module and complete all required course assignments, activities, quizzes, and/or end of course exam. Exceptions may be discussed with lead instructor.

  • Fatality and injury data
  • Principles of risk management
  • Safety responsibilities
  • Safety at selected incident types
  • Operational risk management

All emergency and crisis response personnel.
