Teach students how to lift and classify fingerprints. Use ink pads and balloons to enlarge prints for study.

Materials

  • Balloons
  • Ink pads

Instructions

  1. Use one balloon and an ink pad.
  2. Press your finger onto the ink pad.
  3. Press your finger onto the surface of the balloon.
  4. Blow up the balloon to enlarge the fingerprint.
  5. Label it (e.g., “Right Thumb”)
  6. Compare your fingerprint with classmates or family members.
