Description

Work Zone Traffic ControlThe Work Zone Traffic Control course provides participants with best practices surrounding work zone traffic controls using the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and all related Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) standards. During the course, participants are provided proper traffic control set up procedures along with all related safety measure requirements necessary to reduce risks associated with work on or near roadways.

Prerequisite

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Preparation of simple traffic control plans+Signs and channelizing devices +Traffic control typical applications +Traffic crashes in temporary traffic control zones and legal responsibilities +Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices+TxDOT standards which apply to TxDOT highways, including the Interstate System+Temporary traffic control zone+Pavement markings, lighting devices, and other signs+Use of traffic flagging/flaggers

Audience

  • Highway contractors, including foremen, crew leaders, and technicians.
  • Utility, earthwork, and paving subcontractors
  • Personnel who develop and/or implement work zone traffic control set-ups.
