Description

This course is designed to provide you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to conduct advanced breaching and breaking operations on rope at large-scale structural collapse incidents. You will expand your knowledge learned in the 80-hour Structural Collapse Technician course by conducting breaching and breaking operations while working two and three stories above the ground. This course includes multiple hands-on activities using the large simulated collapse structures in Disaster City®.

The skills learned in this course are applicable at structural collapses involving multistory, heavily-reinforced structures such as office buildings and large apartment complexes. Activities include multiple simulated operational periods in which you will employ skills learned during the course.

This course is one of the requirements for the Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) Rescue Specialist Certificate program.
