International Students wishing to attend TEEX training in the United States 

Only for the Fire Recruit Academy program is TEEX authorized to provide an I-20M for use in obtaining an M-1 visa at this time. 
TEEX is not authorized to provide an I-20 or any visa assistance for any other programs.

International participants wishing to attend TEEX training in the United States (excluding the courses listed below) may be authorized to do so using a different visa classification. TEEX is not able to provide visa advice or assist with visa issues for these courses. Participants can be provided a letter of invitation (LOI) by the program once they have registered and paid for the course in full. Additionally, international participants wishing to attend training provided through the FEMA Cooperative Agreement must first receive approval through the NERRTC office.  

Exception -- International participants are not eligible to attend the following programs at this time:  

  • Basic Peace Officer
  • EMT-Basic
  • EMT-Paramedic
  • Unexploded Ordinance (UXO) Technician
  • Tower Technician Level 1
  • Demining
  • Lineman Academy
TEEX is seeking approval from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to have these programs added to the approved list for M-1 classification.  If you have any questions, please contact International Services Office.
