Course Description
This two-day course demonstrates to participants nationally recognized principles that, when used appropriately, can lead to COs or Chief Officers who may be in command of a single resource, Strike Team or Task Force at the scene of a WUI incident. This course may also be appropriate for those structural firefighters participating under the command of a structural CO during a WUI incident.
Prerequisites
Incident Command System ICS-100 and ICS-200
Preferred courses are Q0462 and Q0463, available through NFAOnline.
Course Completion Requirements
Participants Must Provide
A photo identification on the first day of class. See the TEEX ParticipantHandbook for approved forms of identification and additional guidelines.
Laptop or tablet to view student manual and exercises.
Attendance Requirements
To meet NFA attendance requirements, participants must complete each training module and successfully complete all required course assignments, activities, quizzes, and pass the end of course exam to receive course completion. During the course, your instructor will review any additional requirements.

Upon successful completion, you will be able to:
- Command of a Single Resource, Strike Team or Task Force at the scene of Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) incident.
- Identify the various operational activities and safety considerations for the structural CO assigned to a WUI incident.
- Identify the WUI environment, contrast it with structural firefighting.
- Implement appropriate operational and command activities for this environment.
