Course Description
The Health Hazard Awareness (OSHA #7205) course covers common health hazards that are encountered in the workplace. These health hazards include exposure to chemicals, asbestos, silica and lead. Course topics include identification and evaluation of health hazards and their sources of exposure, health hazard information, and engineering and work practice controls. Students participate in workshops on evaluation and abatement of workplace health hazards. Upon course completion, students will have the ability to understand common health hazards in the workplace and methods for controlling and abatement of these hazards.
NOTE: This course is taught in English.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for this course.
Course Completion Requirements
Participant Must Provide
- a photo identification on the first day of class. See the Participant Handbook for approved forms of identification and additional guidelines.
Attendance Requirements
Upon successful completion, you will be able to:
- Identify four types of health hazards that are present in the workplace.
- Discuss techniques to recognize health hazards.
- Describe tools and methods to evaluate health hazards.
- Discuss measures to control exposure to health hazards.
- Describe OSHA resources that are available to assist employers and employees in finding information about health hazards.
