Course Description
OSH730 Understanding OSHA’s Permit-Required Confined Space Standard (OSHA #7300) is designed to provide an overview of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards for permit-required confined space (PRCS). This one-day course discusses the requirements of OSHA’s Permit-Required Confined Space Standard for General Industry (29 CFR 1910.146) and Construction (29 CFR 1926 Subpart AA). This course covers OSHA requirements, but does not feature hands-on sections.
NOTE: This course is taught in English.
Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for this course.
Course Completion Requirements
In order to receive a Certificate of Completion, the participant must:
- Attend 100% of the course
- Sign the attendance roster each day of class
- Complete and pass the final exam(s)/field activities/etc.
- Complete the end-of-course evaluation
Participants attending face-to-face classroom training events will be required to provide photo identification. Participant identification will be verified by a TEEX designated representative the morning of the first day of class. The proof of identification should include the full name and photograph of the individual. The following are acceptable forms of photo identification:
- State-issued IDs such as a Driver’s License or Identification Card
- United States of Foreign Passports
- National Identity Card
- U.S. Military Card (front and back)
- Military Dependent’s ID Card (front and back)
- Permanent Resident Card
- Certificate of Citizenship
- Certificate of Naturalization
- Employment Authorization Document
- Employee ID or Badge with photo

Attendance Requirements
Class attendance is an essential part of the education process, and participants in TEEX courses are expected to attend all class sessions and field exercises. The course requires participants to attend a minimum of 100% of the class hours as a component of successful course completion. During the course, your instructor will review any additional attendance requirement, for example a field exercise that cannot be missed.
Upon successful completion, you will be able to:
- Describe a permit-required confined space.
- Recognize hazards of a permit-required confined space.
- Recognize the requirements of a permit-required confined space.
- Recognize rescue requirements for permit-required confined space.
Suggested Audience
This course is designed for a small employer or a representative (e.g., line supervisor or manager) designated with the responsibility to develop a permit space program.
