Course Description

Accident Investigation SignThe Introduction to Incident [Accident] Investigation (OSHA #7505) course covers an introduction to basic accident investigation procedures and describes accident analysis techniques. Course topics include reasons for conducting accident investigations, employer responsibilities related to workplace accident investigations, and a six-step accident investigation procedure. The target audience is the employer, manager, employee or employee representative who is involved in conducting accident and/or near-miss investigations. Upon course completion, students will have the basic skills necessary to conduct an effective accident investigation at the workplace.

Prerequisites

Attendance Requirements

TEEX and the OSHA Training Institute (OTI) have an attendance policy that requires participants to fully attend an enrolled class in its entirety (100% of the course). We realize that extenuating circumstances may arise that would take a participant out of class and have a policy to handle those situations. If a participant misses less than 20% of the class, he/she may be able to perform makeup work equivalent to the class time missed. If 20% or more of the class is missed, the participant may attend a makeup course upon approval by TEEX’s OTI Education Center Director.

Policies

TEEX Policies

In October 2010, a suspected gunman was reported on the Texas A&M University Campus. Campus and local police immediately responded. Fortunately, the gunman was only carrying a replica weapon.

The training and support that we received from NERRTC and the TEEX Law Enforcement Training Division aided university and local responders as they deployed the Incident Command System in response to the incident.
