Course Description

This course is designed to provide participants with an awareness level of knowledge to recognize situationally appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for a variety of response areas. Participants will also be able to identify the appropriate use and care for PPE commonly used in the rescue environment.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Course Completion Requirements

To complete this course you are required to have a computer with internet access and view the module in its entirety. For live presentations, you will be expected to participate in all activities during the class and remain in the class until its completion.

Attendance Requirements

To meet attendance requirements participants must review each training module and complete all required course assignments, activities, quizzes and/or end of course exam.

This class is taught in Central Standard Time (CST)

Upon successful completion, you will be able to:

  • NFPA Standards for PPE selection, use, care, and retirement
  • Common PPE in the rescue environment
  • Pros and cons of a variety of rescue PPE
  • Appropriate care and rehabilitation for rescue PPE
