Course Description
This is the lesson covering ropes and knots. This lesson describes different types of ropes and webbing, as well as procedures for maintaining and storing rope. The lesson also covers different types of knots and their uses.

There are no prerequisites for this course.
Course Completion Requirements
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Level 4 as described in the TEEX Student Safety Manual. for the skills portion of the class.

To meet attendance requirements, participants must review each training module and complete all required course assignments, activities, quizzes, and/or end of course exam.
Recommended
Essentials of Fire Fighting, Seventh Edition recommended.
Topics
- After completing this lesson, the student shall be able to describe various uses for life safety and utility rope and differentiate among types of knots. The student shall also be able to describe the procedures for cleaning, inspecting, and maintaining rope.
