Course Description

This U.S. Coast Guard (USCG)-approved course offers classroom and practical training on emergency procedures, pollution prevention, safe onboard working practices, and skills regarding social interaction both onboard and on shore. 

Any applicant successfully completing this four-hour course and presenting our Certificate of Training at a U.S. Coast Guard Regional Exam Center satisfies the requirements of 46 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 10.205(i)(4)and Table A-V1/1-4 of the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) code.

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Course Completion Requirements

Course Attire

For classroom activities, participants must wear full length pants, closed-toe shoes, and short sleeve / long sleeve shirts (no sleeveless shirts).

U.S. Coast Guard Requirement

All participants attending a U.S. Coast Guard approved course are required to provide a photo ID on the first day of class. See the Participant Handbook for approved forms of identification and additional guidelines. 

Attendance Requirements

Class attendance is an essential part of the education process and participants in TEEX courses are expected to attend all class sessions and field exercises. This course requires participants to attend 100% of the class hours as a component of successful course completion.
