Course Description
Are you looking to increase the likelihood of finding individuals in distress, be it those impacted by disaster or a child lost in the wilderness?
The online course introduces geospatial technologies and their ever-expanding role in search and rescue planning and response operations. The focus of the course is how geospatial technologies can be used to support critical decision-making, enhance situational awareness, and increase operational efficiency; ultimately contributing to more successful search and rescue mission outcomes. Topics include data types, data collection methods, basic components of geospatial technologies and the roles and responsibilities of key players. The successful completion of this course provides you with the recommended knowledge to participate in the PER-303 Geospatial Technologies in Search and Rescue course.

There are no prerequisites for this course.

To meete attendance requitements, participants must review each training module and complete all required course assignments, activities, quizzes, and /or end of course exam.
