ASP231 – Advanced Hazardous Material Response
This class is for the hazardous materials responder that wants to take their skills to the next level through a non-certification scenario-based format. This week will challenge your past training at a technician or specialist level. Come prepared to use your leadership skills, diverse knowledge of chemicals, remediation skills, and decontamination techniques. Students will use both cognitive and hands–on skills to successfully mitigate a series of hazardous materials scenarios. By the end of the course, students will be able to identify hazards, incorporate air monitoring to develop the hot warm, and cold zones; demonstrate and explain the different types of decontamination processes; and describe the required medical management of patients involved in hazardous materials incident.
