Annual School Vendor Shows

Vendor Show Information

Each year, thousands of fire service personnel from municipalities and industries participate in intensive weeklong training courses that make up the annual spring and summer fire schools. Courses range from basic to advanced levels and are taught by hundreds of guest instructors, each experienced in specific areas of emergency response.

Guest Instructors’ Memorial

During the Texas Annual Fire Training Schools, memorial services are held to honor those on the wall as well as guest instructors whose names will be added for the year.

A monetary donation can be made in memory of a guest instructor or any individual in lieu of flowers.

Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) Use Requirement

As of 9/1/23 an SCBA must be worn and in use at all times during interior and exterior live fire training once participants have crossed the red line of demarcation located around the training props. The only exception to this policy is during incipient fire training. (For example, project #17 portable extinguisher fires and project #88 LNG fires when utilized as incipient fire training props.) An incipient fire is defined as a fire that is in the initial or beginning stage and can be controlled or extinguished by portable fire extinguishers, Class II standpipe(s), or small hose systems without the need for protective clothing or breathing apparatus.

TAMFS Funding

We have streamlined the process for payment via Texas A&M Forest Service funding (H.B. 2604 or TIFMAS Grant Assistance Program). Before you register for a course, you must attain approval from the Texas A&M Forest Service for training tuition. On your approval letter there will be a voucher approval number. Each student approved for tuition grant assistance will need this number. Register for your course through your TEEX student portal. On the payment section, choose “Purchase Order” and enter the “VFDE” number (for example “E123456”). If your department was approved for multiple students, each student up to the maximum approved in the training tuition request may use the same VFDE number. If the total amount due is greater than the total amount allowed by the tuition voucher, the individual/department will be responsible for the difference. You are no longer required to email or fax the approval letter to TEEX/ESTI unless it is specifically requested by TEEX staff. The PO contact email needs to be either yourself or a responsible person within your organization. A new data field has been added to the payment process. The Tax ID (Tax Payer ID, EIN or FEIN) will be the number assigned to your organization. The field is required and needs to be in the following format: xx-xxxxxxx.

Annual School Accommodations Policy for Written Exams

All ADA accommodation requests must be communicated and approved by the TEEX Disabilities Resources office prior to the first day of class.
